On February the 6 in 2008 a biological contamination of the water network Adliswil in the canton of Zurich (Switzerland) occurred. The Water network is not directly connected, but is adjacent with the distribution network of the city of Zürich. The reason for the contamination was a false connection between process and drinking water due to construction work on a sewage plant. In the consequence of the accident more than 16.000 citizens of Adliswil were called to boil the water for drinking and cocking purpose. Around 200 persons became ill as a consequence of contaminated water. This was the most serious event in the history of drinking water supply in the canton of Zurich.
