This chapter describes the applications of stimuli-sensitive inverse opal gels that can exhibit anisotropic volume changes and of a system that combines stimuli-sensitive hydrogel particles with a stimuli-sensitive inverse opal gel. These stimuli-sensitive soft materials exhibit unique properties and are promising sensing and coloured materials.
