A series of π-conjugated alternating polymers containing heterocycles are reviewed in this chapter. Heteroles (heterocyclopentadienes) with boron, silicon, germanium, phosphorus, and transition metals are the main focus. In the former part, the characteristics and applications of these polymers are explained, focusing on the optical and electronic properties. The synthetic protocols of alternating polymers are described in the latter part.
