An exhaustive overview of recent progress in pure organic mechaoflurochromic systems is provided. These systems have been divided into twenty kinds according to their molecular structures. Even though substantial progress has been made toward the understanding the relationship between the molecular structure and mechanochromism, the challenges of controlled design and construction of novel organic mechaoflurochromic systems remain unmet.
