The analysis of perhaps no other vitamin has received such constant attention than that expended on vitamin B12 since it was isolated in 1948 with food and clinical importance. This chapter reviews the literature on analytical applications of vitamin B12 with chemiluminescence and biosensor detection in food science and nutrition developed between 1977 and 2010. The basic principles of biosensors are outlined and the types of chemiluminescence formats for the detection of vitamin B12 are considered.
