Mechanochemical reactions have been demonstrated to be an excellent alternative to conducting chemical reactions in the absence of solvents. However, often at the conclusion of the mechanochemical reaction purification methods, such as column chromatography, that require the use of hazardous solvents are needed. Polymer supported reagents have been shown to complement mechanochemical reactions by making the isolation of products feasible without the need for chromatographic separations. This powerful combination allows for the development of much greener reaction conditions.
