This chapter presents the physiological/pharmacological properties and therapeutic uses of drugs acting on the cardiovascular and renal system (CRS). The basic principles of pharmacology and development from physiology, medicinal chemistry to an increasing, sometimes vague understanding of the pathophysiology and the disease state are highlighted. Pharmacology is just one stanza in our understanding of drug action on organ systems in the body.
