Dr. Malik Dilshad Khan received his Masters and M.Phil degree in chemistry from Quaid-I-Azam University (Pakistan) and PhD from the University of Zululand, South Africa. He has published over 60 research articles, 6 book chapters and has given many scientific talks at national and international conferences. He is an expert in designing and synthesis of metal–organic precursors for the preparation of high-quality binary or multinary metal chalcogenide nanomaterials and thin films via different routes. He is currently a Marie Curie co-funded postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Physical Chemistry-Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw, and the research is focused on the development of efficient and stable metal chalcogenide-based catalysts for hydrogen evolution, oxygen reduction and oxygen evolution.
Prof. Neerish Revaprasadu, FRSC is a Professor of Inorganic Chemistry and South African Research Chair Initiative (SARChI) chair in Nanotechnology at the University of Zululand. He obtained his BSc (Hons) from University of Natal, South Africa in 1994 and PhD from Imperial College London, UK in 2000. He has published 255 research articles and 32 book chapters. He has given more than 90 lectures at national and international conferences. The research focus of the chair is on developing routes for the delivery of high-quality materials. The initial work was on II–VI semiconductor materials such CdS, CdS, CdTe, PbS, PbTe and PbSe. The current focus is on earth abundant materials using metal complexes as single source precursors. The materials of interest are Bi, Fe, Ni, Co, Sb chalcogenides. AACVD and hot injection routes are used to prepare the binary and ternary materials. Work on metal chalcogenide binary, ternary, 2-D and carbon nitride-metal chalcogenide (CN-MC) composite systems for application in energy generation and storage is also an area of interest.
