Corrosion in metals is an electrochemical reaction that encompasses alterations in both the substrate and the electrolyte. While the corrosion mechanism is uniform on a microscopic level, different microstructures, mechanical design issues and compositions will yield various conformations of corrosion. There are exact methods to control this degradation, which is almost found everywhere, be it in industries or in our daily lives. We must be vigilant as to how corrosion may affect us and prevent this damage from occurring.
