Chapter 9: Characterization of Green Gasoline: Existing Standards

This chapter summarizes the existing standard methods for the characterization of green gasoline. In order to commercialize green gasoline, this fuel must be able to comply with the standards for a combustion engine fuel compatible with ASTM D4814 specifications in the USA and EN 228 specifications in Europe. There are 30 ASTM test methods for conventional gasoline and seven of them are important test methods for green gasoline. These seven test methods are described in this chapter where the green gasoline needs to meet the required specifications before being used in gasoline engines.
