Preface

Volume 51 follows the path traced by the changes in the series introduced with Volume 39, combining reviews on the latest advancements in photochemistry (every other year on a part of this discipline) with highlights on emerging and well-established topics. Starting from vol. 47 the section “SPR Lectures in Photochemistry”, a contribution from researchers on an essential topic of their choice, has been introduced. We are grateful to the contributors, who provided excellent and highly scholarly input even during the troubled and challenging events that characterised this last year. We thank the staff working on Specialist Periodical Reports (Liangqi, Matt and Janet), the Royal Society of Chemistry, and our colleagues at the Universities of Pavia and Uppsala for their support. Finally, we are grateful to Dr Daria Manganaro, who supplied the original artwork for this volume.
