In this chapter, we introduce the transformation methods of tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) using transition-metal complexes, including Pd, Ni, Cu, and Ru. TFE is highlighted for its low environmental impact and is essential in organofluorine industries. This chapter details several catalytic processes of TFE, such as Pd-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions, Ni-catalyzed multi-component coupling reactions, Cu-catalyzed addition reactions, and olefin metathesis catalyzed by Ru complexes, showcasing the versatility of TFE in the synthesis of fluorinated compounds.
