In this chapter, we review some of the significant advances that have been made in the past decade in understanding and manipulating the morphology of bulk heterojunction organic photovoltaics. A general introduction is given, followed by a discussion of common methods used to characterize the morphology. We selected a few important systems and discuss key aspects of their morphologies and the parameters that determine the morphologies.
