There are not many examples of natural products that bear pyrazole moieties, but despite this observation, unnatural pyrazole derivatives are highly biologically active and can be found in numerous drugs. The first part of this chapter is a general description of the physicochemical properties of pyrazoles and different strategies for their synthesis are explained. The second part presents (former) marketed drugs utilizing pyrazoles as scaffolds.
