This book has summarized the recent developments in cell surface engineering. A great deal of work has been done so far, however, we believe that the major success of cell surface engineering is in the future. Here, in this concluding chapter, we try to anticipate the future directions in fabrication of functional “cell in shell” structures. We tried to pick up the most intriguing and challenging ideas for fabrication and application of “cyborg” cells yet to be realized.
