This chapter discusses recent accomplishments of NMP enabling various types of biomaterials. Rather mild reaction conditions and fast reaction times in organic and aqueous environments led to the development polymeric structures reaching from glycopolymers and bioconjugates to nanoparticles and composite materials encompassing surface derivatization and nanomaterial modification. Especially water-soluble SG1-based alkoxyamines, derived macroinitiators and ‘drug-initiated’ polymerization techniques led to the development of nanomaterials suitable for drug delivery applications.
