When Bruce Banner transforms into the Hulk, his body goes through a series of fantastic changes that one would imagine to be possible only in a universe where superheroes exist. However, this chapter discusses how the biological processes behind his transformation are similar to some of the processes that a normal cell goes through to become that biggest of supervillains, the cancer cell. Understanding how this process begins, using the Hulk as our inspiration, we can come to terms with why cancer happens and how it grows, which is the first step to understand how to target and destroy it.
