Directly and indirectly, humans interact with the light around them throughout their lives. We take the presence of light in our lives for granted. Yet, those who have never seen light, or who have lost the ability to see it, have tales to tell that can change our perspective of life. Their stories make us stand back and marvel at the magical ability that our eyes endow on us. In many ways, our lives become defined by this interaction of light particles with matter around them. So what happens when people lose the ability to see light? How does this change their experience of the world?
