The purpose of this chapter is to provide a general overview of the use of alcohols, phenols and carboxylic acids in asymmetric organocatalysis. In particular, the idea behind this chapter is to present a detailed analysis of the most important stereoselective organic reactions catalysed by them. Moreover, the methodologies that have been applied in the total synthesis of complex molecules have been highlighted.
