In this chapter, I advance the hypothesis that the future progress and expansion of PDT in major thoracic cancers resides with its inclusion within the global treatment of these cancers as multimodal therapies and not as a monomodal therapy. My argument is supported by the history of cancer treatment by what is known as ‘standard methods’: extensive review of relevant letters; personal experience. This hypothesis serves as a platform for presenting photodynamic therapy to the medical profession and as a basis for taking clinical trials to a new level of feasibility and acceptable to patients and those who need statistical significance who, at times, have ignored clinical relevance.
