This book was conceived in order to represent the grand finale of the “Brixen Meetings” before the torch was passed on from Professors Giulio Jori, University of Padua, and Herwig Kostron, Innsbruck, Austria, to the next and younger group of scientists. At that time, none of us realized how final that meeting would be for Giulio who, true to his meticulousness, tried to wrap up our 20 year biennial adventure in Brixen (and Innsbruck) neatly and comprehensively with photodynamic therapy (PDT) research and schools in the form of this edifice. This book now becomes an appropriate memoriam to Giulio. I summarize below the contents of this book in context. Following the summary, is a section of memoria in which Herwig Kostron, Thierry Patrice, Roy Pottier, Chuck Gomer and Stephen Bown write tributes to Professor Giulio Jori.
