MetGen is a Finnish SME specialising in the design, manufacturing and tailoring of industrial enzymes predominantly for pulp and paper (P&P) and biorefinery industries. In this chapter, the use of enzymes in wood related industrial applications is discussed. The chapter includes business and technical aspects of enzyme applications, industry specific challenges and solutions, and presents original experimental data from laboratory, pilot and industrial trials of some of MetGen enzymes.
