In this chapter, the excess enthalpies for binary mixtures which contain ionic liquids are presented and discussed. It is found that hydrogen bonding systems, i.e. those that contain water or alcohols, show a large range in excess enthalpy values, from highly negative to highly positive. This is especially true for aqueous mixtures. However, systems with other solvents present a much smaller variation in excess enthalpy values.
