The recycling of rubber after its intended use continues to be an important subject from an ecological perspective. This chapter is concerned with waste tire rubber recycling and also discusses waste reduction and re-use. An extensive overview of tire production, post-consumer tire recycling, different types of de-vulcanization methods and reaction mechanisms during the de-vulcanization of tire rubbers are briefly described in this chapter.
