Given the wide range of synthetic applications involving titanium complexes, some general reactive patterns which are representative for many relevant transformations can be identified. The present chapter will focus on the role of organometallic titanacycles and titanium vinylidene complexes, which are key intermediates in many current applications of titanium reagents in synthetic chemistry.
