It has been estimated that one-third of cancer deaths are preventable by lifestyle modification including appropriate diet. Numerous epidemiological and animal studies suggest that coffee may be beneficial for prevention and treatment of certain types of cancer. The proposed mechanisms of coffee constituents include anti-oxidation, anti-inflammation, pro-apoptosis, anti-angiogenesis, and anti-metastasis. In this chapter, we summarize the experimental and epidemiological evidence of the protective effects of coffee on solid tumors.
