This chapter reviews a simple method for the generation of singlet order in scalar coupled spin systems. The method relies on adiabatically changing the magnetic field strength. In particular, the case of slowly removing the sample from the main magnet is discussed. The theoretical concepts of such adiabatic transformations and field cycling procedures are discussed and applied to a weakly coupled two-spin-1/2 system at high magnetic fields. More involved experimental procedures involving larger spin systems will be briefly mentioned.
