This chapter discusses the roles and applications of different thermal energy storage technologies for both supply-side and demand-side energy management through integration. The supply-side management covers solar power generation, grid-scale electrical power conversion and storage, and industrial waste heat recovery. The demand-side management includes district heating, district cooling, and domestic heating and cooling. Typical examples are given in each of the cases with a focus on system integration. Special attention is also paid to potential commercial operations.
