Key features of lung diseases have been alleviated by using stem cell therapy. Since stem cells are known to be effective through paracrine mechanisms, extracellular vesicles (EVs) have emerged as promising therapeutics for the treatment of lung diseases. This chapter highlights the studies that have shown the therapeutic potential of EVs and summarises the known mechanisms of action of EVs in various lung diseases.
