Ultrasound activation has been widely explored in organic chemistry to improve the yields of reactions or their kinetics. The sonochemical approach can also allow changing the selectivities or limiting the use of hazardous solvents or the amount of catalyst, in accordance with the principles of green chemistry. However, rigorous control of the sonochemical parameters is necessary to better understand the mechanisms involved under ultrasonic activation.
