Dr Alagarsamy Pandikumar is currently working as a Scientist in the Electro Organic and Materials Electrochemistry Division, CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute, Karaikudi, India. He obtained his PhD in Chemistry (2014) from Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai and then successfully completed his post-doctoral fellowship tenure (2014–2016) at the University of Malaya, Malaysia under the High Impact Research Grant. His current research involves the development of novel materials with graphene, graphitic carbon nitride, in combination to metals, metal oxides, polymers and carbon nanotubes for electrochemical sensors, photo-electrocatalysis, dye-sensitized solar cells and supercapacitor applications. His research outcomes are documented in 123 peer-reviewed journals including 9 review articles. He has more than 3750 citations with a h−index of 36. He served as Guest Editor for a special issue in Applied Surface Science Advances, Frontiers in Chemistry, and Materials Focus journals and has edited 11 books for reputed publishers.

Dr K. S. Shalini Devi is currently working as a National Postdoctoral Fellow (N-PDF) awarded by DST-SERB in CSIR CECRI, Karaikudi India. Her present research area is the synthesis of different nanomaterials for the fabrication of solar cells. She was awarded a JSPS post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Tsukuba. She obtained her PhD in Nanobio-electrochemistry from Vellore Institute of Technology, India, in December 2018. She has been involved in the development of novel, chemically modified, electrodes using enzymes, various biomarker detection, synthesis of affordable carbon materials and detection of environmental toxicants. She has been an active Research Associate in INDO-UK project entitled “Diabetic Retinopathy” from the Centre for Nanotechnology and Advanced Biomaterials (CeNTAB) and the School of Chemical and Biotechnology, SASTRA Deemed University, India. She has published a couple of book chapters and a couple of review papers on existing biomarkers.
