Chapter 9: CO₂ Mitigation and Carbon Trading

The major cause of global warming is the emission of green house gases like carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide etc into the atmosphere. This chapter described about the mitigation of carbon dioxide using PV/T technologies. This will encourage the user to adopt this technology from global climate change point of view and their benefits. This chapter discussed about the Kyoto Protocol, its mechanism and importance. It is also described about emission trading, clean development mechanism (CDM), tools for project implementation, etc. The carbon credit analysis of a Solar Energy Park, different PV/T systems, SAPV system, has been presented in this chapter.
