Statistics is vital for the correct interpretation of experimental results and familiarity with basic statistical techniques is essential for robust volumetric analysis. In this chapter, the difference between determinate and indeterminate errors is discussed, alongside the convention for significant figures and calculating the overall error for a set of experimental data. Exemplar calculations of routine laboratory statistics are also included.
