This short chapter addresses the application of volumetric analysis in modern industry. The use of titrimetry in the pharmaceutical industry is summarised and exemplified a discussion of the determination of busulfan, amitriptyline hydrochloride and chloral hydrate. The use of titrimetry in the petrochemical industry is similarly summarised, including the use of acid–base titration in biodiesel production. The role of volumetric analysis in the agri-food and power industries concludes this chapter.
