Although asymmetric catalysis has experienced intense development during the last few decades, the simplest industrial methodology to prepare chiral products is still the resolution of racemates, in spite of its major default related to the limitation of the yield to 50%. By solving this major disadvantage, dynamic kinetic resolution has become a serious alternative to conventional methods for asymmetric synthesis, providing up to 100% yield. Concomitantly, asymmetric green organocatalysis honoured by the 2021 Nobel Prize in Chemistry plays a central role in synthetic organic chemistry applicable to a wide variety of transformations, including those evolving through dynamic kinetic resolution. This book collects all the developments focussing on organocatalysed dynamic kinetic resolutions, demonstrating the blooming of this special field that joins two powerful concepts, namely dynamic kinetic resolution and asymmetric organocatalysis.
