In this lecture, I introduce some basic concepts related to tensors and their representation. Tensors have a crucial role in spin dynamics because all involved interactions are described by tensors. I discuss Cartesian and spherical representation of tensors and their reducible and irreducible forms. The transformation rule for irreducible spherical tensor components, crucial to spin dynamics, is introduced. It involves Wigner rotation matrices and Euler angles that are discussed to the extent they are used in spin dynamics.
