This chapter describes a field-cycling NMR relaxometry and computer simulation study of the so-called flow-relaxation effect in porous media. Ordinary thermal motions of adsorbate molecules at pore surfaces are superimposed by coherent flow. The liquid is forced through the pore space of the matrix by a strong pump. As an example of targeted manipulation of molecular dynamics, both experiment and theory demonstrate an enhancement of the RMTD process.
