Chapter 2 describes the most common and alternative methods to prepare nanoapatites. Most of these strategies are aimed at the preparation of bone grafts for bone tissue repair. This chapter tries to unify a didactic point of view by explaining the basic concepts of solid-state, wet-route, aerosol-assisted, methods, etc., together with the research efforts carried out in the field of nanoapatites for biomedical purposes. At the end of the chapter, a new section dealing with the bio-inspired synthesis of nanoapatites has been included for this 2nd edition.
