The chapter deals with the synthesis of microwave-assisted commercially important hydrogels. It covers synthesis of homopolymeric, copolymeric and multi-polymeric/IPNs/semi-IPNs hydrogels including polymeric composites with quantum dots. Outlining the importance of the much less explored field of MW-assisted synthesis of hydrogels, the chapter establishes the superiority of the method over other radiation-assisted and chemical routs. The research potential of much controllable MW-aided synthesis of polymeric hydrogels is also discussed.
