The seventh chapter of the book collects the advances in enantioselective nickel-catalysed additions of organometallic reagents to aldehydes reported since 2004. Even if a lot of work has earlier been made in the area of metal-catalysed enantioselective additions of organometallic reagents to aldehydes, especially with dialkylzinc reagents as nucleophiles, the first successful examples of nickel-catalysed enantioselective additions of both organoaluminum and -boron reagents to aldehydes have been reported only in the last decade. In the area of the well-known dialkylzinc addition to aldehydes, interesting results have also been described.
