Researchers in chemoinformatics mostly seem to have been unaware of important advances in other fields, apart from the currently fashionable use of deep learning. Qualitative reasoning and the logic of argumentation are central to much of what is described in this book. Both feature in programs used in law, robotics, and computer games, for example. The chemoinformatics community needs to pay more attention to what is happening in other fields.
