The fourth chapter of the book collects together many other types of enantioselective cobalt-catalysed formations of chiral cyclic products that have been performed in the presence of various types of chiral cobalt complexes derived from salen ligands, biphosphines, porphyrins, N,N′-dioxides, oxazolines, and amino diols. Among the best results are rearrangements of meso-epoxides, intramolecular desymmetrisations of meso-epoxy alcohols, intramolecular openings of 3-substituted oxetanes, cyclisation of o-iodobenzoates with aldehydes, hydroacylations of 2-alkenylbenzaldehydes, intramolecular C–H alkylations of acceptor/acceptor-substituted diazo reagents, Darzens reactions, and Povarov reactions.
