The eleventh chapter of the book collects together all of the other types of enantioselective cobalt-catalysed reactions involving the formation of chiral acyclic compounds that could not be inserted into the other chapters. It is divided into three sections dealing successively with α-functionalisations and α-alkylations of carbonyl compounds, carbonyl-ene reactions, and other reactions. These very different types of transformations have employed salen, biphosphine, phosphoramidite, and Werner cobalt complexes, among other catalysts.
