Vampires can do a lot of things that your average human can't; they are like undead, evil supermen. This chapter explores the great abilities of vampires, from their extreme strength and speed, to their ability to climb vertical walls or control the minds of their victims. Science has a few possible explanations for these enhanced abilities, including chemical doping and materials engineered to grip walls like a gecko. There are other animal inspirations too, such as naked mole rats and terrapins who, thanks to their genetic adaptations, would be far better suited to long periods of time spent in cramped, oxygen-starved coffins. Even mind control has been demonstrated in labs in recent years, where paralysed people can instruct robots to move using only their thoughts.
