This chapter presents details of the equilibrium reactions that take place in the gaseous phase and their dependence on temperature.  The heat and temperature of an explosion for RDX is calculated at equilibrium conditions.  Kinetics of explosive reactions together with activation energy, rate of reaction and thermal decomposition is discussed.  The use of DSC, DTA and TGA is described for investigating the kinetics of explosives reactions.
